Joe Li is currently the Head of China for HSBC UK Commercial Banking, he acts as the ambassador connecting UK China Corridor within HSBC networks, supporting Chinese companies investing in the UK and British companies going to China.
Joe is an experience banker of 18 years' experience and has held a number of positions in HSBC's operations worldwide, including postings in London, Shanghai and Hefei. Before being appointed as Head of China in HSBC UK in 2021, he was the Branch Manager of HSBC Hefei Branch between 2017-2021, overseeing HSBC's businesses & government/regulator relationships in Anhui Provinces, where HSBC is the province's largest foreign bank. Joe also undertook various positions within HSBC China between 2014 – 2017 including Business Management & Lending Transaction Management where he worked on corporate strategies & portfolio and risk management.
Joe started his career in HSBC HQ in London in 2005 and worked in a number of client facing roles in Commercial Banking & Global Banking supporting multinational corporates.
